A dome array can help reduce your labor cost by easing assembly process You only need to stick our dome array to your circuit board. Not like a membrane switch, the dome array just the middle layers separate from a membrane switch.
Our metal dome arrays are produce with the pre-loaded polyester dome carriers backed with pressure sensitive adhesive. Arrays come loaded with the dome(s) which you test a good, cut to the size and shape per you specify. You can printed circuit board is populated with one metal dome or many contact pads. Compared to the membrane polyester pad printing switch which was formerly used, the dome array gives good tactile-feeling. It also gives much longer lasting life span than a poly dome sheets.
It is possible to manufacture metal dome arrays (metal dome sheets)with various size and to meet customers' request. At present, we make the following basic types of metal dome arrays.
1. Single layer dome array design
The type dome array is very simply. The metal dome contacts are attached under Maylar (one layer of adhesive thinner PET film). On the sheet, there is an air hole for each dome contact and it is essential for good click-feeling.
2. Double layer dome array design
This type is very similar to single layer type design. But the difference is that, in this type, the Spacer adhesive is attached under the metal dome contacts. Air paths which function like air holes in single-layer, helps provide good click-feeling when dome contacts are pressed.
3. Graphic overlay or silicone rubber keypad glue dome array design
There has one layer of the membrane overlays or the Silicone rubber keypad that glue on top of the dome array. The array bottom have the acrylic adhesive that allow to stick on circuit boards.
